Footnotes to A Son's Memory

    * He wrote in his Overflowing River of Life: “Being fed by the pure
Word of God, we must create a life and character molded by His
Word, endure and overcome the test of suffering in order to keep [or
to be faithful to] the Word, so as to cultivate a brighter and purer
spiritual character” (298).  He liked a desk wedge on which my
brother (Brian Chungyoon) engraved the following verse for him: "I
    die everyday" (I Cor. 15:31).

** In the preface to Jaisun Cha’s sermon collection, Heaven or Earth,
Rev. Lee writes: “Ever since he had dedicated his life to God, [Jaisun
Cha] lived a life of an evangelist for less than 10 years.  But he lived
a life so full of love and devotion that it would have taken others more
than 100 years to achieve what he had achieved in such a short life.
... [When he was gravely ill,] I sincerely prayed that God would take
me instead and let him live” (13, 14).
